Monastery of the Holy Spirit
This is the perfect place to learn about and practice architectural photography and techniques like shooting High Dynamic Range (HDR) images.
Plan to bring a selection of lenses (if you have them) to this photo shoot and a tripod…but no flash (not allowed)! Conyers is located approximately 35 miles east of Atlanta. Directions will be provided at the time of registration.
Join instructor, Larry Winslett, on this popular hands-on photo shoot at the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers, Georgia for a unique opportunity to photograph the beautiful chapel – built by the Cistercian Monks from the 1940’s through the 1960’s. The chapel is noted for its clean architecture and figurative and colorful stained glass in simple geometric shapes – also hand-built by the Monks.
In addition to the chapel, you will be able to photograph the grounds (outside of the cloistered areas) including the lake and resident ducks, bonsai greenhouse and visit the new abbey store for homemade jellies and cheeses and much more.
There is also the Monastic Heritage Center, museum and café.
