Lighting 101

Photography at its core is capturing light. Capturing the best light can make or break a photo. In this workshop, Sara will demonstration several different types of light sources to help you choose which one is best for you, and how to use them to create your best images!

Bring your photography to the next level and finally understand how to translate light in your own images!

We’ll explore:

  • Basics of understanding light

  • Direction of light and why it matters

  • Diffused vs Harsh and best applications

  • Modifiers such as diffusers and how to use them

  • Artificial light

    • Intro to LED lighting

    • Intro to external flash

We’ll focus on techniques that are applicable across the board to any type of photography as we bring each lesson back to the core of photography: understanding light.
