Join us for an exciting class designed to empower you with the knowledge and skills to manipulate light like a pro. Whether you're shooting in natural light or working with artificial sources, understanding lighting is the key to transforming your images from ordinary to extraordinary.

Photography at it’s core is capturing light. Capturing the best light can make or break a photo. In this three week class, we explore all different types of light and learn the basics of how light works!

We’ll cover a wide range of sources, with each new source a different type of light.

We’ll focus on techniques that are applicable across the board to any type of photography as we bring each lesson back to the core of photography: understanding light.

Frequently Asked Questions

    • Any camera! DSLR, Mirrorless, and mobile phone are all welcome. This class is focusing on theory rather than technical. Note if you join with a mobile phone, the lessons on flash and studio lighting with not be applicable to mobile phones.

    • All lighting gear will be provided by the school.

  • Yes! For both locations!


    Our Old Fourth Ward has a dedicated parking lot. We will send out a validation code just prior to the workshop start time.

    Our Sandy Springs location has a parking deck dedicated to Northside Tower.

  • We absolutely welcome note taking! But, we also send out a link to the slide deck presentation from every workshop, so you can focus on learning.
