Advanced Black & White
Film Photography
with Caleb LeBourgeois
Elevate your craft with our Advanced Black & White Film Photography Workshop — a hands-on deep dive for film photographers ready to master the timeless art of monochrome. This immersive course concentrates on control, vision, and the craft that separates snapshots from evocative, enduring images.
This workshop will cover the specifics of black-and-white film photography, including spectral sensitivity, developer types, the Zone System, advanced metering techniques, and other essential topics. The second part of the workshop will put that knowledge into practice with a hands-on outing at the Blue Heron Nature Preserve in Sandy Springs, where you’ll expose at least one roll of film (or four sheets if shooting large format).
What you’ll get
Intensive technical refinement: advanced exposure techniques, precise zone system application, push/pull strategies, and film choice for mood and grain control.
Shooting assignments with critique: field sessions focused on composition, light interpretation, and storytelling in monochrome. Constructive, practical feedback from instructors after each shoot.
